How to identify your ZF 8HP
Send us clear photos of the tag and case. Include donor details only if you know them. Attach the photos in your email app.
Record the label, not a guess
- Copy every visible identifier exactly as written, including suffixes.
- Photograph the entire tag in focus, then a wider view showing its position on the unit.
- Keep the donor year, make, model, engine and drivetrain with the photos.
Show the important differences
C&C may ask for views of the engine mounting face, electrical connector, output and overall case. Send clear originals rather than a screenshot with unreadable tag text. If a number is damaged or missing, say so; don’t substitute a similar unit’s number.
Be clear about the unit’s history
- Installed and working, removed working, faulty, or condition unknown.
- Previous repairs or upgrades, if documented.
- Any missing converter, pan, connector, hardware or other parts.
Stay safe around the car
Do not get under a vehicle supported only by a jack or lift a transmission to obtain a photo. If identification needs unsafe access, send the information already available and let the shop plan the next step.
