8HP adaptation and fitment.

Adaptation is not a universal reset.

Use current OEM guided diagnostics for the exact vehicle. Audi’s 2011 A8 training describes a guided adaptation cycle after values are deleted during a software update. The 2017 Q7 0D5 document describes stationary quick adaptation for specific service work. These are different applications, not a procedure for every 8HP.

Do not erase values as a blanket cure for poor shifting. Diagnose the fault and follow the vehicle procedure.

RWD and AWD donors

Record the donor drivetrain and photograph the output. Check the output connection, case, mounting and vehicle electronics before buying a donor. A shared family name is not confirmation that two units interchange.

Converter and cooling

Give your installer the exact converter and transmission part numbers. Confirm the engine interface, cooling connections, line routing and required fluid before assembly. Keep transmission fluid and any separate differential or transfer section oil requirements distinct.
